David's parents came from Austin, Texas to visit us for the weekend and to take us to conference with them. I was so excited for them to come and see our new house and spend time with us. I don't think we have spent much time with them, just David and I. We had lots of fun.
David picked them up from the airport Thursday night. Friday morning they bought David a surprise house warming gift while he was at work. We all went to David's work, Qualtrics, for their TGIF lunch and company meeting. It was fun to have them see where David works.
Mom took me shopping and bought me some maternity tops. It was fun to spend time with her, and so kind of her to buy me some clothes! I felt so special!
David came home a little early and went with dad to pick up his surprise. We kept calling it his dog house, he almost believed us.
Friday night we enjoyed Indian food at my favorite, Bombay House. Saturday morning, our friends the Wilde 's joined us for whole wheat waffles and the morning session of General Conference.
The men had tickets to see priesthood session at the conference center so Mom and I ran a few errands and visited David's cousin Anna for a bit. I sure love David's family, they are always so kind! That night I had a bit of a mental break down that I blame 30% on being pregnant, 20% on being hungry, and 50% on the fact that David decided at 4pm saturday to invite over approximately 24 people to our house on Sunday for a dinner... Yeah, that was crazy and David was so nice and helped me through it. Thankfully David's parents helped plan and set up.
We left our house at 7:30 am to get to the morning session..... SO EARLY!!!!! But we got there early and enjoyed Music and the Spoken Word with the Motab choir, and conference was wonderful. I might have used the bathroom 4 or 5 times during our "visit."
The BBQ turned out great, I think, and everybody brought a yummy side dish, and they even helped me clean up while David took his parents to the airport.
I am grateful for a wonderful husband, with such a great family to call my own! It was such a fun weekend with his parents and I am so glad they came! They hadn't been to Utah since our wedding. They won't get to wait that long till they come again, we hope to see them soon after the baby is born.
